. . . excerpt from our book, Talk To Your Soul,
The mindset of lack is something people convince themselves they are in when they run out of money or need to make a sacrifice. We knew any effort that was made to initiate any future ideas would need to have the mindset of lack removed first before we could be successful. But we also knew that we needed to refine our lifestyle so that it did not support this mindset. Our past habits created a life that became a quest to have more in our life. We worked and strived to have more possessions, more status, more power, and more control over our environment. We saw this as our life purpose. We taught our children these ideals and they witnessed our model, just as we had witnessed similar ideals of people from our parent’s generation. What we were doing was teaching our children how to struggle through life by always wanting more. As long as we kept this mindset of wanting and needing more, it created lack in our life when we didn’t get more of what we wanted. It was not only time to define a new life purpose, it was necessary to become a better model for our family and other people we came in contact with while redefining this different way of life. |
